Miracast nexus 6p

Does anyone know a way that may be able to get miracast working? Is it a hardware thing or software? This means any protected stream on your phone will only send the sound. (The video only shows on the phone's screen.) There it just don't work. Correct, downloaded some miracast aps, they all lead me back to the "cast" app in my moto z play. Can anyone help? Enable miracast in the cast settings in the settings app as well with the 3 dot menu. You'll need root to do it. I'm using miracast to cast to my appradio The only other thing I did was turn Wi-Fi on Mirrorlink (usb connection) is different to Miracast (WIFI) so are people giving advice on getting Miracast working when the OP asked about Mirrorlink? I was referring to it as how I use it, sorry. My Pioneer NEX stereo has Mirror Link and I connect to it using a Miracast device, Screen Beam Mini2 plugged into the HDMI port. Or at least, that's how I believe it works, using Mirror Link.And you're right, it can do more than mirroring with the right app. I use App Radio Unchained and have the full functionality of my phone on my NEX. Pretty neat stuff. If you are using Miracast into HDMI then you are not using Mirrorlink. That is done over USB. But as OP mentioned in his first post, Nexus 6P is not certified MirrorLink device. So to put it simple, is there any way, to make Nexus 6P work with MirrorLink enabled car "stereos"? What car is it? How are you launching it on the S5? Most head units need the phone to have the application also on the phone end to initiate and control the Mirrorlink connectivity.The 6P is not Miracast certified either, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Maybe a description of how it does work on other phones for that particular car will help diagnose. Mirrorlink essentially works in a similar way to Chromecast without the need for the internet connection. It still needs a client at the phone end to work.

I also have a Netgear PTV3000 WiDi/Miracast capable adapter. My phone sees the adapter, but there is no mirroring to a display. you must have missed the part where Miracast is a 4.2 feature? #18 you must have missed the part where Miracast is a 4.2 feature? No, just sharing that a WiDi/Miracast capable adapter recognized a Wi-Fi Direct device, a substantiation of Croak's earlier post. #19 I'm now of the belief that the reason we haven't heard something official from Google is because the Nexus 10 has been submitted for Miracast Certification but is still under review. Makes complete sense. They can't say it supports Miracast until it passes Miracast Certification. They don't want to say it doesn't because they think they'll ultimately get the certification. So for now they just stay silent. Whereas the Nexus 4 has already completed Miracast Certification so that one they could officially announce. Perhaps the same reason they've been silent on the Nexus 7, which being that it has a Tegra 3 in it and Nvidia says Tegra 3's have built in support for Miracast and are working towards certification, should mean that theoretically it is capable.
